The short version: SweepstakesWiz.com is an independent, reader-supported review site. Some links to sweepstakes casinos are affiliate links. If you click one and register, the operator may pay us a referral fee — at no extra cost to you. This is standard FTC-disclosed affiliate advertising, and it does not change our ratings, our rankings, or the states where we show offers.
What is an affiliate link?
An affiliate link is a tracked URL. When you click one of our "Claim Bonus" or "Visit" buttons and then create an account at a sweepstakes casino, the operator can tell that the visit came from us and may pay us a one-time referral fee or a share of revenue. You pay nothing extra, and your bonus terms are identical to those of any other visitor.
How we label affiliate links
- Every affiliate link uses
rel="sponsored nofollow"so search engines understand it is a paid relationship. - Affiliate buttons open in a new tab and route through our redirect endpoint, never a hidden third-party script.
- This disclosure is linked in the compliance bar at the top of every page on the site.
Why payment doesn't change our ratings
Our scores follow a published, criteria-based methodology — see How We Rate and our Editorial Policy. Commercial terms (how much an operator pays) are not one of those criteria and are not visible to the person assigning a score. Where a brand pays well but performs poorly on redemption speed, terms, or player feedback, it is rated accordingly — or not listed at all.
Geographic restrictions come first
Some US states restrict the marketing of sweepstakes casinos. In those states we suppress affiliate offers entirely and show informational content only. This applies regardless of how much an operator pays us.
How our geo-compliance system works
This isn't a manual promise — it's enforced automatically by the site on every request:
- Location is detected at the edge. We resolve the visitor's US state from network-level geolocation before an affiliate offer is rendered.
- Restricted states are suppressed site-wide. In the states listed on our State Legality hub — reflecting marketing-affiliate liability such as California AB-831 and New York S5935 — no affiliate links or calls-to-action are served for any operator. A "not available in your location" notice is shown instead.
- Per-operator availability is enforced too. Even outside those states, a specific brand's offer is suppressed in any state where that operator is not available.
- Affiliate links pass through a single server-side gateway. The tracking link is never sent to your browser until the location check passes; in a suppressed location the redirect simply does not happen.
- We fail closed. If we cannot reliably determine your location, we default to showing informational content only rather than an affiliate offer.
- It is independent of money. These rules run before, and regardless of, any commercial relationship or payout amount.
In short: where the law says we shouldn't market these offers, the website itself makes sure we don't — automatically, on every page, for every visitor.
We are not the operator
We do not run any sweepstakes casino, hold player funds, process redemptions, or control bonus offers. All accounts, promotions, and payouts are governed solely by each operator's own official rules and terms. Disputes about an account must be raised with the operator directly.
