How We Rate

A transparent, hands-on, 7-criteria scoring system. Here is exactly how every sweepstakes casino on this guide earned its score.

Last updated: May 3, 2026

The Short Version

Every sweepstakes casino on this site is scored against seven fixed criteria totaling 100 points. The scores are produced by hands-on testing — we register a real account, claim the welcome bonus, play, request a redemption, and document every step. Our affiliate relationship with the operator does not shift any score.

Sites scoring below 60/100, or scoring 0 on the redemption-speed criterion, are removed from our rankings entirely.

How Each Score Is Built

1. Redemption Speed (25 points)

The single most important criterion, and the one most casinos game in their marketing. We do not trust operator-published "average" times. Instead, we measure ours:

Scoring band: 0–24 hours = full 25 points. 24–72 hours = 20. 72 hours – 1 week = 12. 1–2 weeks = 5. More than 2 weeks, or any failed redemption = 0 (and the brand is automatically delisted).

2. Welcome Bonus Value (15 points)

Marketing materials inflate bonuses with promotional Gold Coins, locked-up Sweeps Coins, or impossible playthrough requirements. We score the realistic claimable value — what an average player can actually redeem after meeting the playthrough on a 96% RTP slot. Maximum redemption caps and time limits are factored in.

3. Game Library (15 points)

Quality matters more than raw count. A site with 4,000 white-label slots scores lower than a site with 1,500 well-curated titles from Pragmatic Play, Hacksaw, NetEnt, Relax Gaming, and similar regulated providers. Bonus points for:

4. KYC & Onboarding Friction (15 points)

Identity verification is a legal requirement, not a flaw — but how it's implemented separates good operators from bad. We score:

5. Customer Support (10 points)

We open three real support tickets per review cycle: one trivial ("Where is my SC balance?"), one urgent ("My redemption is stuck"), and one complaint ("Why was my account flagged?"). We score response time, resolution quality, and whether the agent escalated when they should have.

6. Terms & Conditions Fairness (10 points)

Red-flag clauses we look for:

7. Platform Stability (10 points)

Measured via independent uptime monitors over the prior 90 days, mobile UX testing on iOS/Android, security header audit (HSTS, CSP, etc.), and a search of public breach databases. A history of unplanned 4+ hour outages or any unresolved security incident significantly reduces the score.

Why Some Sites Aren't Listed

You will notice some heavily advertised sweepstakes casinos missing from our top lists. The most common reasons:

Re-testing Schedule

Every listed site is re-tested at least once per quarter (every 90 days). High-traffic sites — top 5 in our rankings — are re-tested every 30 days. A site can move up or down the rankings between scheduled reviews if we receive verified complaints or significant operator changes.

The Affiliate Wall

Our reviewers are not told which operators have signed referral agreements with us until after a review is published. Affiliate-relationship status is, of course, ultimately public — but separating the writing from the deal-making materially reduces unconscious bias. Operators that try to negotiate ranking position as a condition of partnership are permanently delisted.

Spotted Something Wrong?

If a score on this site looks wrong to you — based on your real experience as a player — please tell us. Email geeko@sweepstakescasinoreviews.com with the operator name and what specifically you experienced. Real complaints from real players are the single biggest driver of our re-investigations.
